Garmin eTrex Vista HCx firmware ver 2.60 per 4. februar 2008 aktiverer alle menyspråk i eTrex Legend og Vista HCx US modeller, altså også nordiske språk. Er patchenes tid forbi? Det kan se slik ut, at Garmin har valgt å fjerne sperringen for enkelte språk i noen GPS mottaker modeller.

eTrex Vista HCx software version 2.60 as of February 4, 2008 Changes made from version 2.50 to 2.60: - Correct German translation of 'delete all waypoints'.
- Fix data card unlock failure when 2 cards of the same map set are used in one device.
- Improve sun times for polar regions.
- Fix issue where ETA in non motor vehicle modes can be unreasonably short.
- Increase precision of distance measurement to the cursor on the map page.
- Allow backlight adjustment on the track back point selection page.
